The Targa Tasmania Rally 2009.

The following comments are from Matt Close who has entered in the modern competition and from all at RDA / EBC Brakes we wish Matt & Cameron well.

Every year the competition gets hotter and even though our car has never been better, I have the same goal as last year.
To finish! A top 5 outright would be brilliant, with a top three being the dream.
Our 2000 Porsche Turbo is the oldest car in our class (class 9) and the list of possible winners is long with the new GTR 35 Nissan (6 of them!) and Jim Richards in the latest Porsche GT2 being the favourites.
Although we have won the prologue for the last 2 years, I am not expecting to repeat this as we have a totally new suspension which will lend itself more to the bumps and the wet, hopefully giving us a better set up for the actual rally stages. I have taken a different tack and gone for a soft suspension setup with softer tyres.
This year will be my 6th Targa Tasmania but the first without Casey in the Nav seat. Cameron Reeves (from Queensland) will join me while Casey takes a short break (she said I'm too slow!).
Cameron and I competed recently in Targa West Point in February and finished 4th outright in similar company to Targas' entry list.

RDA / EBC Brakes Wakefield Park Sprint

Date: Monday 27th April (Anzac Monday)

With two rounds of the EPCC now complete, some competitors may have found that their factory fitted brakes could do with a little more bite...well those without a carbon ceramic setup anyway.
Luckily this round of the series is sponsored by RDA Brakes - just what you need to brake later and dive deeper into each corner than ever before.
That's right, the EPCC heads south to the recently resurfaced Wakefield Park Raceway – commonly referred to as the ‘Kiddie Pool’. Why the ‘Kiddie Pool’? Wakefield Park is without doubt one of the safest and most forgiving race tracks in NSW with more than enough run off area and kitty litter than is required – that and not a concrete wall in sight!

Not to sure if your factory brakes can take the heat - then cast away those OEM paper weights and upgrade to a set of RDA Slotted or Gold Passivated Rotors. They not only look great behind your wheels - thet will shave seconds off your lap time too.
Attendees not only benefit from advanced driver training from the Ian Luff Team - All circuit attendees will recieve discounted pricing on all RDA Brake Products!
Cost: $200 including driver training, motorsport photography, in car and external circuit footage, light refreshments and lap timing.
With $600 worth of RDA Brakes slotted and gold passivated brake discs, performance pads, plus more series points on the table, we hope to see you there.

Blood, Sweat & Gears explains the different driver types in terms of their psychology or Attitude. There are four types - Debut Drivers, Decoy Drivers, Daring Drivers and Driveaholics. It's crucial for young drivers (in fact - all drivers) to know which type of driver they are, so that the the positives of each type can be exaggerated, and the negatives minimised.

Click on the links to the right to learn more about these great associations.
